Virginia Beach, VA – September 10, 2002— As part of the celebration, Blackbird Pond, an all original rock band, will perform at the American Cancer Society's Celebration on the Hill, volunteering their time and talent for a good cause. Blackbird Pond will perform at 7:00 p.m. by the Capitol Reflecting Pool. Blackbird Pond's performance will be dedicated in memory of Leonard, brother of the singer, Luisa, and the guitar player, James. Blackbird Pond will also dedicate their performance for the thousands of cancer survivors and for the volunteers present that day.
The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Celebration on the Hill will honor cancer survivors, volunteers, and supporters to fight cancer. The event is scheduled for September 19, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Washington National Mall and consists of entertainment, speakers, and recognition ceremony.
