August, 2003 -- To support the American Cancer Society, the Soul Music Beach Fest will form the largest electric slide group ever seen (www.beacheventsfun.com). National and Regional recording artists will be performing for this great event and to support a great cause. This is a two days event festival starting Saturday August 23 until Sunday August 24, 2003 on 24th Street Stage, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
One of these acts is the rock band Blackbird Pond and they hit the stage on Saturday August 23 at 3:30 pm. Blackbird Pond's talent and great stage presence wowed and made a lasting impression on the production company of Soul Music Beach Festival during a showcase. Because of this, Blackbird Pond was requested by the production company to perform at the Soul Music Festival.
Although Blackbird Pond is a rock band, their soulful music and heartfelt stage presence fit perfectly with the event. Soul Music Festival is part of Beach Events (Clear Channel Entertainment) outdoor summer events. This is the first ever Soul Music Festival in Virginia Beach promoting great music, food, atmosphere, and a good cause!
Blackbird Pond is a five-member all original rock band from Virginia. Mix the sexy look of Jennifer Lopez, the freight-train howler of Tina Turner, and the frenzy presence of Mick Jagger with the sophistication of Robert Plant and you described only one part of Blackbird Pond. Add some commanding power of Led Zeppelin, the stroke of AC/DC, The Rollingstones style of British R&B, smoky-Blues-stories from the dirty-south, Nina Simon, then you have an idea of Blackbird Pond.
